Photojournalism VS. the Paparazzi Effect

Two Flower Girls at Kennolyn's Hilltop Hacienda
The approach taken by the true photojournalist is to become as invisible as possible while capturing the real interactions and emotions of the day without directing the subject or affecting their behavior. The goal of the photojournalist is to create an artistic visual composition with compelling and genuine emotional content. This approach requires intuition, timing and discretion. The results are sublime when compared to the multiple-shooter paparazzi approach, one that bangs away at everything and captures nothing.
